Today in Postal History
The cover traveled only a short distance
of about 50 km from Blantyre to Zomba in British Central Africa.
Zomba is north northeast of Blantyre in what is today Malawi.
The cover received two clear CDS from both
towns.
I believe the cover is franked with 1d.
vermilion and (pale?)
ultramarine perf. 12 from Setting II issued in June, 1898 (SG 57).
I would appreciate concurrence or alternate thoughts regarding that
identification.
