Today in Postal History
India to United States
April 19, 1938
This nice advertising cover went into the mail in Calcutta.
There are two fairly illegible CDS for some station in Calcutta.
The cover advertised three radio models which I.R.P. radio probably
manufactured.
The addressee was a prominent manfacturer of
radio parts - particularly condensers - for radios of that era.
The cover is franked with two 3 pie slate George V from the 1926-33
series
and a 3 anna carmine from the 1932-36 series (SG 201 and 237).
